The Concourse Concert Hall, Chatswood

Tickets $26 (babies under 12 months free)

Children are invited to experience a musical fairy tale adventure at the Willoughby Symphony’s children’s concert Crowns and Tiaras this July at The Concourse, Chatswood.

Introducing children to classical music in a fun and engaging way, Chief Conductor and Artistic Director, Dr Nicholas Milton AM will lead an interactive, explanatory performance with excerpts from Edward Elgar’s regal Enigma Variations, captivating children of all ages.

This 50-minute concert is a unique opportunity to witness symphonies of music by Australia’s leading community orchestra, under the direction of their internationally acclaimed, Grammy-nominated Artistic Director.

Following the concert, children will be further entertained with free crown decorating from 3pm – 4pm in The Concourse foyer, as well as an opportunity to meet the musicians and play their orchestral instruments. Children are encouraged to dress up in their regal attire with a crown or tiara – prizes for best dressed!

“Our annual family concert is a superb opportunity for children to be exposed in a completely relaxed and fun way to the wonders of a symphonic performance and to meet the instruments and musicians of their local orchestra,” Dr Nicholas Milton AM said. “These concerts are always highlights of the Willoughby Symphony’s year and Crowns and Tiaras, featuring the spectacular Pomp and Circumstance March – as performed by the WSO’s full symphonic strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion – is a perfect stepping stone for children to develop a lifelong passion and love for music,” he said.
