Curated Plate announces extended program of local food and destination-led experiences

With more than 110 Sunshine Coast businesses involved in The Curated Plate, Mayor Mark Jamieson said the festival was a unique opportunity to showcase the region’s $700 million food and agribusiness industry. “Food experiences and events such as this help promote the premium quality of our regional produce as well as offering an outstanding visitor experience,” Mayor Jamieson said.

The Culinary Collective is a series of events held in popular Sunshine Coast restaurants, bars and breweries, which will see local chefs collaborate with feature chefs from The Curated Plate’s festival program to create one-off menus and unique experiences. The likes of Chase Kojima (Sokyo, Sydney) and Troy Rhoades-Brown (Muse, Hunter Valley NSW) will be invited into the local kitchens to help showcase the best of the Sunshine Coast’s incredible produce.

Complementing The Curated Plate’s incredible dining events is an impressive line-up of activity-led local experiences, specially curated and hosted by Sunshine Coast businesses. Running from 5-18 August, The Destination Series includes everything from Jet Ski food safaris along the Pumicestone Passage to a four-day cycling and culinary experience around the majestic Sunshine Coast and hinterland, dining under the stars at Flaxton Gardens, a train deguSTATION journey through the Mary Valley, craft beer tours, and an opulent Opera and fireworks show over a locally sourced feast at Sunshine Castle after dark.
