Dangerous driving charges in Rockhampton City, QLD

A 34-year-old man is due to face court tomorrow following multiple alleged dangerous driving incidents in Rockhampton City on Thursday night.

It will be alleged at approximately 11.30pm on June 22, a white Ford utility drove at pedestrians along a footpath on William Street, before driving through a red-light towards oncoming traffic on George Street.

Police attempted to intercept the utility on Canning Street, but the vehicle allegedly failed to stop.

The vehicle was involved in several other alleged incidents throughout the night, including a minor collision with another car, driving without lights on, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving towards pedestrians and other acts of dangerous driving.

Police arrested the driver just before 3.30am on June 23 on Glenmore Road in Park Avenue.

The 34-year-old Rockhampton City man has been charged with three counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, drink driving and fraud.

He will face Rockhampton Magistrates Court tomorrow, June 26.
