Dangerous Driving Of Stolen Vehicles At Ipswich

Police have charged a 17-year-old boy in relation to dangerous driving incidents in Ipswich yesterday, March 13.

Police sighted a green Ford Mustang, allegedly stolen from Annerley, and a silver Ford Falcon, allegedly stolen from Ipswich, driving in convoy through Ipswich.

The Ford Mustang was abandoned in the Ipswich CBD and the driver of that vehicle was allegedly picked up by the Ford Falcon.

POLAIR tracked the Ford Falcon as it allegedly continued to drive dangerously to evade police.

Police successfully deployed a Tyre Deflation Device (TDD) to stop the car on Redbank Plains Road, before it came to a stop near the Town Square Redbank Plains.

A teenager left the vehicle on foot and ran into a nearby business, where police arrested him.

A 17-year-old Moores Pocket boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, two counts of receiving tainted property, two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle and one count each of enter dwelling and commit, learning to drive must be properly supervised, learner must not drive motor vehicle unless L plates displayed and clearly legible, using, or permitting use of, vehicle for which a number plate attached given granted for another vehicle, possession of a knife in a public place or school and possessing dangerous drugs.

He has been refused police bail and is due to appear before the Ipswich Childrens Court today, March 14.

Investigations are ongoing to locate an alleged second offender who was driving the Ford Mustang.
