Dangerous operation of stolen vehicle at Logan

Two men have been charged over the alleged dangerous driving of a stolen Porsche resulting in police deploying a tyre deflation device at Logan overnight.

Officers observed the stolen Porsche Macan on the Gold Coast and attempted to intercept it when the driver allegedly evaded police by accelerating north on the Pacific Motorway.

The vehicle was observed by officers patrolling in Beenleigh a short time later where a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed with the vehicle continuing to travel northbound on Pacific Highway.

Shortly before 9pm officers activated their lights and sirens to intercept the vehicle and a police pursuit commenced on the Logan Motorway, ending a short time later on Loganlea Road at Loganlea.

It will be alleged the driver and passenger fled the damaged vehicle but were located a short time later where they were arrested without incident.

A 20-year-old Redbank man has been charged with unlawful police and obstruct police. He appeared in Beenleigh Magistrates Court this morning and was refused bail to reappear on May 28.

He is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

The Porsche was stolen from a Graceville address on Monday morning.
