David’s weekly message

Good morning all

I hope you have had a good week. Another 10 or so mm of rain came.

New DPIE Building opened

We had visitors! The omnipresent Minister for Lands and Water Melinda Pavey visited us again to open the new DPI building and to look around our wetlands and various water projects. Thanks to Nicole, Ian, Wayne B, Allan, Jon and all for helping with that.

A lovely ceremony – the building is named after the great Ian Armstrong who was the Cowra based politician who brought the old ag department to Orange. That’s his wife in the picture.

Managers Forum

I attended the Manager’s forum this week – minutes will follow but a good regular get together. We spoke of Covid mgt, safety, morale and plenty more. Ask your Manager for details.

Ellie hits the streets!!

Finally the FutureCity project is off and running – Ellie Bryce who is now our permanent Community Engagement Officer (CEO!!) hit the streets and met over 100 shopkeepers in two days handing out brochures and answering all sorts of questions.

Great feedback for us to work with and Ellie was well received. The proposed Anson St Town Square (minimal) is generating much interest and overall seems popular.

Have a great weekend.

David
