Deceased person identified at Glenorchy

Police have this morning formally confirmed the identity of the person who was located deceased in a house fire at Glenorchy on Friday.

Detective Acting Inspector Nick Bowden said, with permission of her family, police can confirm the person is the resident of the home, 39-year-old Alison Robinson.

“Our thoughts remain with Ms Robinson’s loved ones, and they have requested privacy at this time,” he said.

“As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives are now appealing for further information from members of the public.”

“We’re particularly interested in hearing from anyone who saw a person in dark clothing, carrying a dark backpack and travelling on or with a light-coloured mountain bike in the area between Park Street, North Hobart and Pirie Street, New Town between 7am and 7:30am on Friday, 5 January.”

“Anyone who saw this person, or who has relevant CCTV or dash cam footage, is urged to contact Glenorchy CIB on 131 444.”
