Desperate Hodgman threatens bipartisanship on family violence

Tasmanian Labor
  • Hodgman attacks Labor on family violence while criminal runs loose in the community
  • Tasmanians deserve better than disgusting gutter politics from the Liberals
  • A bipartisan approach to preventing family violence has been shattered by Will Hodgman in parliament today.

Shadow Attorney General Ella Haddad said Will Hodgman put on a disgusting display of political point scoring when asked about an escaped inmate from Risdon Prison.

“Family violence is a scourge on our society and should always be above politics,” Ms Haddad said.

“Will Hodgman tried to avoid answering questions today about escaped prisoners by instead attacking Labor on the topic of family violence.

“Labor will always do all we can to prevent family violence.

“Labor has always worked with Government in a collaborative way on this issue.

“It is vital that this issue stands above politics.

“For Will Hodgman to desperately attack Labor on this issue, while failing to tell Tasmanians how the prisoner in question, himself a convicted perpetrator of family violence, had escaped from minimum security is an absolute disgrace.

“Will Hodgman should hang his head in shame.”

    Ella Haddad MP

    Shadow Attorney General
