Detectives appeal for witnesses after Broadmeadows collision

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses and dash cam vision following a collision between a motorcycle and truck in Broadmeadows Sunday evening.

The solo rider caught the attention of police on Camp Road after it was seen driving erratically about 8pm.

Police attempted to intercept rider but didn’t pursue after the motorcyclist speed off.

Shortly after it’s believed the rider travelled through a red light at the intersection of Camp Road and Northcorp Boulevard and collided with a truck.

The 24-year-old rider from Broadmeadows received life-threatening injuries and was conveyed to hospital.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives worked throughout the night processing the scene.

The roads are now open.

Professional Standards Command has been notified and will oversight the investigation as per normal procedure when an incident occurs following recent police contact.
