Detectives dismantle drug supply syndicate in Glebe

Four men and two women have been charged by detectives after illegal drugs, cash and weapons were seized in Sydney’s inner city.

In March 2020, officers from Leichhardt Police Area Command established Strike Force Jude to investigate drug supply in the Glebe area.

Following inquiries, strike force detectives with assistance of officers from the Central Metropolitan Region’s Operation Odin and the Dog Unit executed six search warrants at homes in Glebe, between 6am and 6.30am yesterday (Tuesday 28 April 2020).

During the searches, detectives seized heroin, methylamphetamine, cannabis, more than $5000 cash, an extendable baton, a sling shot, ammunition, fireworks and items suspected to be from the proceeds of crime.

Police arrested four men and two women before taking them to Newtown Police Station, where they were charged with a number of offences.

A 30-year-old man was charged with knowingly take part in supply of prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug, occupier allow use of drug premises, assist in conducting drug premises, and possess ammunition with licence.

A 33-year-old man was charged with ongoing supply of a prohibited drug, three counts of conducting a drug premises, three counts of individual supply, and deal with proceeds of crime.

A 39-year-old man was charged with ongoing supply of prohibited drug, twelve counts of supply prohibited drug, three counts of knowingly take part in supply of prohibited drug, conducting a drug premises, deal with proceeds of crime, possess prohibited drug, possess prohibited weapon, and handle explosive.

A 51-year-old man was charged with ongoing supply of prohibited drug, six counts of individual supply, conducting a drug premises, and deal with proceeds of crime.

A 59-year-old woman was charged with five counts of knowingly take part in supply prohibited drug, occupier allow use of drug premises, and possess a prohibited drug.

And a 52-year-old woman was charged with eight counts of supply prohibited drug.

All four men were refused bail and are due to appear in Central Local Court today (Wednesday 29 April 2020).

The two women were granted conditional bail and are due to appear at Downing Centre on Friday 19 June 2020.
