Rockhampton Regional Council’s SmartHub is calling for local people with a business idea, or interest in starting a business, to register and attend the Techstars Startup Weekend Rockhampton from 26-28 November 2021.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said whether you have a bright idea, or have identified a product or service gap in the market, the upcoming two and a half day event is an excellent opportunity for you.

“Weekends like the Techstars Startup Weekend Rockhampton are the perfect environment to test ideas and take the first steps towards launching a new business,” Mayor Williams said.

“Not only will participants be able to develop a business idea, they will obtain valuable business advice from highly experienced mentors, meet like-minded individuals and connect with local networks.

“I know there are many people with good business ideas in our community and this weekend is a fantastic chance to learn new skills and work on developing your ideas.”

Mayor Williams said even if you don’t have your own idea you can still join a team to participate in the fun.

“We are thrilled that SmartHub is hosting the Techstars Startup Weekend Rockhampton, a superior first-hand education for technical and non-technical individuals,” Mayor Williams said.

“We encourage you to register and come along – it’s a great experience to tap into and to have the chance at winning some fantastic prizes.”

Techstars Startup Weekend Rockhampton tickets are $98 for two people or $75 for an individual and include fully catered meals for the weekend.
