Queensland Police have arrested four people after a reported stolen vehicle was tracked from Oxley to Toowong in Brisbane’s west today, February 13.
Initial information indicates around 11:50am, officers spotted a blue 2015 Volkswagen Polo, reported stolen from an Ashgrove address last night, driving along Blunder Road and attempted to intercept the vehicle on foot.
As an officer approached the vehicle, the stolen vehicle allegedly drove dangerously at them, which resulted in the officer presenting and discharging his service firearm at the vehicle.
The vehicle then continued to drive along Blunder Road before travelling northbound on the Centenary Highway. The vehicle was tracked for some time before it was located abandoned on Fredrick Street, Toowong.
Following patrols, officers were able to locate four people allegedly from the vehicle a short time later and take them into custody.
Those people are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
This matter is under investigation by Ethical Standards Command, with the investigation subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
