Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a theft from a car and subsequent deception in Moorabbin late last month.
Police have been told a man’s credit card was stolen from his car when it was parked in the driveway of a South Road address in Bentleigh, sometime between 4.30pm on 31 March and about 1am on 1 April.
About 10 minutes later the stolen credit card was used by an unknown man at a service station on South Road, Moorabbin.
The man purchased cigarettes before leaving.
Investigators have released images of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.
The man is described as aged in his early 20s with black hair, and was wearing a black jacket and a black cap.
