Donated mountain bikes stolen in Rochester

Campaspe Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for public assistance after 30 donated mountain bikes and helmets were stolen in Rochester sometime in the last two weeks.

Detectives believe unknown offenders have forced entry to a storage shed on Rochester Secondary College’s grounds, on Edward Street, sometime between 24 May and 2 June.

The Fluid brand mountain bikes and helmets, thought to be worth around $21,000, were donated to the school by a Victorian charity after last year’s floods devasted the town.

The bikes had only been donated to students in April.
