Drink driver involved in separate crashes at Rosewater

A driver has been reported for drink driving following two separate crashes overnight in Rosewater.

Just before midnight on Sunday 1 November, police were called to a business on Grand Junction Road, where a Holden Commodore had driven through the front doors before crashing into the interior common wall of the adjacent business.

Investigations revealed the same driver had crashed into a letterbox of a house on Elizabeth Street a short time earlier while driving a Holden utility. Police will allege the driver jumped out of the utility before driving off in the Commodore sedan.

The 27-year-old man from Rosewater was breath tested and returned an alleged blood alcohol reading of 0.084. He has been reported for aggravated drive without due care and drink driving and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date. He was also issued with an immediate six month loss of licence and both vehicles were impounded for 28 days.

The driver was not injured and investigations are continuing in relation to the circumstances surrounding both crashes.
