Driver disqualified until 2062 caught driving in Huntingwood

A disqualified driver has been charged with multiple traffic offences after a crash yesterday.

About 3.55pm (Thursday 10 June 2021), police responded to a crash between a Ford Falcon and a Mercedes at the intersection of the Great Western Highway and Huntingwood Drive, Huntingwood.

The driver of the Ford, a 52-year-old man, and the driver of the Mercedes, a 37-year-old man, were assessed at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but were not injured.

Officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Checks revealed the older driver was disqualified from driving until 2062.

The man was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with drive motor vehicle during disqualification period – second offence, not stop at stop line at red light (not toll booth) motor vehicle and drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous – second offence.

He was refused bail to appear before Blacktown Local Court today (Friday 11 June 2021).
