A man will face court tomorrow, charged after a crash at Greenacre yesterday.
Just before 3.15pm (Thursday 21 May 2020), emergency services were called to the intersection of Boronia and Waterloo Roads, Greenacre, after reports of a crash.
A Mitsubishi SUV crashed into a vehicle stopped at the traffic lights before continuing into a nearby shop.
Fourteen people were treated at the scene, before 10 were taken to Liverpool, Bankstown, and Canterbury hospitals in stable conditions.
The Mitsubishi driver, a 51-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Liverpool Hospital under police guard for mandatory testing.
Upon his release from hospital, the man was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was interviewed by officers from the Crash Investigation Unit, and later released.
Following further inquiries, the man was re-arrested by investigators at a home on Wangee Road, Greenacre, about 1pm today (Friday 22 May 2020).
He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and has since been charged with drive furiously in motor vehicle do/cause bodily harm, drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm), proceed through red traffic light, and fail to notify authority of change of residential address.
The man was also charged with drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, and not give particulars to other driver in relation to an unrelated traffic incident at Lakemba on Tuesday 14 January 2020.
He has been refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (Saturday 23 May 2020).
