Drought relief brings affordable family fun

Families can enjoy plenty of affordable family entertainment in Guyra this month, thanks to a State Government grant secured by Council.

The Youth Entertainment program funding, for districts affected by the drought, has enabled Council to reduce admission fees for the Guyra Pool throughout January, while Guyra Library will host a free Memphis Moovers family event this Friday.

Pool entry fees have been reduced from $4.50 to $3.50 during January, to encourage young people and their families to access the pool and stay cool during the summer holidays.

The Memphis Moovers fun day will include a free barbecue, live music and a ukulele workshop. It will begin with a balloon school on the lawn outside the Guyra Council offices at 10am.

The ukulele workshop, for children aged five and over, will be held at 1pm. Spaces are limited to 15 people and bookings are essential by phoning Guyra Library on 6770 7123.
