Drug and Firearms Squad detectives charge two men and seize $515,000 worth of drugs following raids – Penrith

Drug and Firearms Squad detectives have charged two men and seized 3.3kg of prohibited drugs with a potential street value of $515,000 following raids in Sydney’s west.

In December 2025, State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearms Squad Chemical Operations Team commenced Strike Force Questa to investigate the manufacturing and supply of prohibited drugs in Penrith.

Following inquiries, about 6am on Friday 3 July 2026, strike force detectives – with assistance from Northwest Metropolitan Operation Support Group and Public Order and Riot Squad – executed three search warrants in St Clair, Penrith and Castlereagh.

While searching a property in Castlereagh, police discovered an inactive clandestine lab inside a shipping container. Detectives seized 1.5kg of cocaine, 907g of methylamphetamine, 708g of heroin, 6g of MDMA, 180g of THC gummies, $85,550 in cash, two cash counters and a hydraulic drug press.

In St Clair, a 23-year-old man was arrested and taken to St Marys Police Station. Police seized $10,000 in cash, a Ford Utility and an electronic device. He was charged with take part supply prohibited drug greater than commercial quantity and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction. He was bail refused and appeared at Bail Division Local Court 8 on Saturday 4 July 2026, where he was granted bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on Friday 4 September 2026.

A 26-year-old Penrith man was arrested and taken to St Marys Police Station. Police seized almost $40,000 in cash, steroids, a Rolex watch, a Ford Utility and about 1kg of cannabis with a street value of $5000. He was charged with supply prohibited drug greater than small & less than indictable quantity and deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100000. He was refused bail and appeared at Bail Division Local Court 8 on Saturday 4 July 2026, where he was granted bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on Friday 24 July 2026.
