Drugs and ammunition seized after Broadmeadows evade

Police have charged a man after he allegedly evaded police in Broadmeadows overnight, before drugs and ammunition were seized.

Police spotted a BMW allegedly displaying false plates near Camp Road in Broadmeadows and attempted to intercept it about 12.50am.

With assistance from the Air Wing, the car was followed through Broadmeadows and Glenroy.

The male driver allegedly got out of the car on a driveway on Herbert Street and fled on foot, jumping over fences.

The 32-year-old Dallas man was located in a garden nearby and arrested.

The BMW was seized, as well as alleged drugs and ammunition.

He has been charged with a number of offences including reckless conduct, possess ammunition, drug offences and breeching bail conditions.

He will appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court later today.
