Drugs And Explosives Charges in Annerley, QLD

Detectives executed simultaneous search warrants at a Laurier Street, Annerley address and an acreage property in Burbank yesterday, targeting the manufacturing of explosives.

The investigation follows two incidents in Annerley on June 10 and August 31 where allegedly pipe bombs were detonated in the early hours of the morning causing damage to property.

The search warrants were executed by the Dutton Park CIB with the assistance of the Explosives Ordinance Response Team, PSRT, Tactical Crime Squad and the Scientific Section.

It will be alleged, Detectives located a number of precursor materials and equipment used to manufacture explosives. Methylamphetamine, GHB, Cannabis and other drugs were also located.

A 30-year-old Annerley woman was charged with manufacturing and possessing explosives, and possessing dangerous drugs.

A 39-year-old Annerley man was charged with manufacturing, possessing and dealing with explosives, destroying property using explosives and possessing dangerous drugs.

Both will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today, October 29.

The search at the Laurier Street property continues today.
