Drugs and firearm charges in South-East Queensland

Queensland Police have arrested nine men on 75 serious drug and firearms trafficking charges as part of a major operation across south-east Queensland.

Investigators from Crime and Intelligence Command’s State Drug Squad commenced Operation Uniform Stock in April this year to investigate the trafficking and supply of dangerous drugs and firearms in South-East Queensland.

Assisted by officers from Moreton Tactical Crime Squad, Ferny Grove CIB and the Public Safety Response Team (PSRT) search warrants were carried out across Kallangur, Lacey’s Creek, Ferny Grove, Pimpama, Stafford Heights, Samsonvale, Woolloongabba and Shailer Park between Friday August 19 to Monday August 22.

During the operation officers allegedly seized quantities of cocaine, methylamphetamine, MDMA and firearms, including shortened semi-automatic shotguns, AR15 semi-automatic and pistols.

Police also allegedly seized a cocaine press, large quantity of cash, cannabis and three vehicles.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with thirty-three offences including counts of trafficking dangerous drugs and one count of trafficking firearms and will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 5.

A 32-year-old man has been charged with one count of firearm trafficking, three counts of supply of firearms and one count of possession of dangerous drugs. He will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 5.

A 22-year-old man has been charged with two counts of supply of dangerous drugs, two counts of supply of firearms, two counts of possession of dangerous drugs, one count each of items used and proceeds of crime. He will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court September 2.

A 29-year-old man has been charged with seven counts of possess dangerous drugs, one count of trafficking dangerous drugs, two counts of supply of dangerous drugs, supply of firearm, and one count each of possess utensils, things used and proceeds of crime. He appeared before Brisbane Magistrates Court today (August 23).

A 23-year-old man has been charged with one count each of supply and trafficking of dangerous drugs and 3 counts of supply of firearms. He will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 29.

A 23-year-old man has been charged with three counts of supply of dangerous drugs and will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 13.

A 25-year-old man has been charged with one count each of supply and trafficking dangerous drugs and will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 5.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with one count each of supply dangerous drug and supply firearm and will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 13.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with three counts of supplying dangerous drugs and will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 13.

“Operation Uniform Stock was established as part of a commitment by Queensland Police to target the trafficking of illicit drugs and firearms,” said Drug and Serious Crime Group Detective Inspector Brad Phelps.

“The removal of weapons of this nature from circulation within the community and the hands of organised crime will enhance the safety of all Queenslanders.”
