Join the thousands of Australians and their pooches hitting the pavement this May to raise funds for the RSPCA.
The Million Paws Walk brings animal lovers and their dogs together for a pawsome day out, while also raising much-needed funds to help the thousands of animals that turn to the RSPCA for help every year.
And if you register to attend your local Million Paws Walk before 3 April, you can get an Early Bird discount of 20% off the registration fee.
WA’s main event – now in its 24th year – will take place at Sir James Mitchell Park in South Perth from 8.30am, with plenty of stalls, entertainment, tasty food, competitions, and, of course, doggy cuddles on offer.
Those outside Perth won’t miss out on the fun, with walks organised in Busselton, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Port Denison, Denmark, Shark Bay and Esperance.
RSPCA WA relies on donations and community support to generate more than 90% of the funds required to sustain its animal protection work.
The much-loved annual walk is the charity’s biggest fundraising event of the year. Money raised through online fundraising, merchandise sales and activities on the day will be used to provide essential care for the hundreds of animals that RSPCA WA cares for every year.
Animals like Ralph, a seven-year-old Kelpie cross, who was rescued from neglect. Ralph was very underweight when he arrived at RSPCA WA, and his skin was itchy and irritated. During his seven months in care, Ralph gained a healthy 10kg, and his coat grew back thick and shiny. Ralph was forfeited into RSPCA WA’s care through the courts, and went on to find an amazing new home, where he’s lapping up all the love and attention. (Download images of Ralph here)
Registration for Million Paws Walk is available online at www.millionpawswalk.com.au. There’s an option to register individually or as a group, with rewards for reaching fundraising milestones to remind everyone why their sup-paw-t is so im-paw-tant.
The Perth walk will start at 10.30am – with Nova 93.7 breakfast presenter Nat Locke kicking things off – and participants can choose between a 1km, 2.5km or 5km course. On the day, there will be a fun doggy obstacle course to navigate, as well as a range of other activities to enjoy, including the Vetwest Pet Parade.

“The Million Paws Walk on Sunday, 17 May will be a fun-filled day out for all members of the family – especially the four-legged kind.
“But the walk is also a chance for superstar fundraisers to make a life-changing difference to abused, abandoned and neglected animals across WA.
“Last financial year, donations received from events like this helped RSPCA WA investigate over 6400 cases of cruelty or neglect, and impact positively on the lives of more than 60,000 animals through education and support.
“This important work simply couldn’t continue without the community’s generous support for events like Million Paws Walk.
“I look forward to walking together with thousands of animal lovers on the day to stand up against cruelty, and give a voice to these animals who can’t speak for themselves.”
