Eleventh person charged under strike force drug investigation, NSW

A woman will face court today charged with drug supply following a strike force investigation in the Snowy Mountains.

In February 2020, Strike Force Heeterra was established by the Southern RES to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Snowy Mountains and Queanbeyan regions.

Following extensive investigations, in August this year, strike force officers arrested six men and four women over their alleged involvement in the supply of ‘ice’ and other prohibited drugs throughout the region. They remain before the courts.

About 11pm on Thursday 5 November 2020, police stopped a car for a random breath test on Stornaway Road, Queanbeyan.

A 29-year-old woman, who was wanted in relation to the drug investigation, was located in the backseat of the vehicle. She was arrested and taken to Queanbeyan Police Station, where she was charged with outstanding warrants for supply prohibited drug and participate in criminal group.

She was refused bail and appeared in Queanbeyan Local Court on Friday 6 November 2020, where she was formally refused bail to appear in the same court today (Monday 16 November 2020).

Investigations under Strike Force Heeterra are continuing.
