Emergency crews responding to fatal house fire, Pacific Haven

At around 1.35am today, emergency services attended a fire in a demountable shed on a Pacific Haven Drive property.

The shed, which is believed to have been used as living quarters, was completed destroyed. A subsequent search located a body.

Police are conducting enquiries in relation to the usual occupant of the residence, a 50-year-old man. He is currently unaccounted for.

Scientific examination and detailed forensic analysis, over coming days and weeks, will be required to confirm identity.

Fire investigators will return to the scene today to continue investigations to determine the cause of the blaze. Early investigations suggest the fire is non-suspicious.

A car and boat also parked near the shed were also destroyed.

Investigations are continuing.
