Expressions of interest are now open for Aboriginal people from remote communities who are interested in developing leadership skills.
The Territory Labor Government’s First Circles Leadership Program mentors and supports emerging leaders to:
expand management skills;increase personal governance capabilities;understand the impact of public policies and programs on communities; andlearn how to contribute to change.
This is a unique program that brings new voices to the conversation to ensure Aboriginal people from remote areas are engaged, and can confidently influence how government does its business and engagement in communities.
The program includes up to 30 Aboriginal Territorians from across the Territory.
Members engage with government at the highest level, including an opportunity to meet directly with Cabinet. They also provide advice and guidance on relevant policies, projects and initiatives.
Successful applicants will be invited to attend the Aboriginal Leadership and Governance Forum to be held in Alice Springs in November 2022. Four workshops will be held throughout the First Circles tenure and members will be mentored by staff and previous members during the program.
