Police are investigating an enter and commit offence at a business in Forest Lake this morning, 9 June.
Initial investigations indicate around 9.45am, a man entered jewellery store on Forest Lake Boulevard, before jumping over the counter and smashing the glass cabinets with a hammer.
The man stole merchandise before fleeing on foot.
No physical injuries were reported.
The man is described as in his 30s or 40s, Islander in appearance, and was wearing a yellow high-vis shirt, beige pants, and gloves.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage, to come forward.
Investigations are ongoing.
