Entering Territory by sea – COVID-19 quarantine advice

Department of the Chief Minister

Anyone coming into the Northern Territory must go into 14 days of quarantine, even if you arrive by sea.

The Territory’s mandated quarantine rules are in place to protect the community from the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Mariners have today been reminded that, like all arrivals into the NT, they must quarantine for 14 days at their own expense in accommodation selected for them by the NT Government.

You must go as directly as possible to Darwin Harbour (if arriving from overseas) or either Nhulunbuy Port or Darwin Harbour if arriving from interstate.

You cannot quarantine on your vessel without authorisation from the NT Chief Health Officer.

Advance notification of arrivals is required, along with the need to secure appropriate care for any pets on board and a safe berth for the 14 day quarantine period.

Anyone who breaches the conditions of their quarantine can be fined $1099.
