Nillumbik Shire Council has been investigating the festival event advertised to be held at Bridges in Hurstbridge this weekend.
On Friday 1 December, Council sought an injunction in the Magistrates’ Court to have the event cancelled due to safety concerns under the Building Act, however this was unsuccessful.
We have not received any applications, nor been consulted in relation to this event, and have not been provided any information about how it will run, or details about patron numbers, accommodation or any emergency measures that will be in place.
We appreciate the concerns in the community and our officers are doing their best to help minimise impacts to residents as best as possible.
Local police and the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) have been notified. Any residents with concerns about noise over the weekend are advised to contact the EPA, and for all other matters please contact the police.
