After losing her beloved cat 18 months ago, Verna was ready to explore the idea of having another pet. She decided that an older cat that, like her, had “slowed down a bit” would be the best fit for her.
Whilst searching the RSPCA adoption pages, Verna spotted Cleo and felt an instant connection. She soon learned that Cleo was part of our Home Ever After (HEA) program, a legacy service that we provide for anyone with a pet. All we ask in return is that you leave a gift in your will for animals, just like Cleo’s former owner Joan kindly did – so that her love for Cleo, and all animals, could live on.

Thanks to the detailed care instructions Joan provided when she registered for HEA, Verna understood that Cleo required patience and understanding to ensure she had a happy life.
“Cleo was very timid at first, hiding for several days, but she gradually came round and now rules the roost. She is such good company – I have never had a cat that makes me laugh so much!”
