Expect delays on Lakes Way South Forster

MidCoast Council

Bitumen sealing at road works on The Lakes Way South Forster will start on Monday 1 May, weather permitting.

Rain is forecast for Monday which could delay the works. Road users should allow extra travel time in case works proceed.

The works are expected to impact morning peak-hour traffic.

Work on the line marking, guardrails, footpaths, and signage will begin after the road is sealed.

The project has experienced significant delays because of wet weather conditions and flooding.

“The weather conditions have caused numerous delays to the road work project which is out of our control, and we appreciate the patience of our community on this matter,” said MidCoast Council’s Executive Manager Transport and Engineering, Peter Gesling.

The project is planned to be completed by the end of May if the weather does not cause any further delays.

This work is part of MidCoast Council’s Capital Works Program.
