Looking to get more involved in the Dubbo Region and make some new connections?
Community members are invited to attend the Dubbo Region Resident Event on Thursday 15 October at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre (DRTCC).
This is the second event for 2026 and is designed to help community members connect with the people, services and opportunities that make the region a great place to live.
Dubbo Regional Council Mayor Josh Black said the event provides a relaxed and friendly setting for people to build connections, whether they’ve lived in the region for years or have only recently arrived.
“One of the best things about living in our region is the strong feeling of community, and this event is a great opportunity to experience that firsthand,” Clr Black said.
“You don’t have to be new to the area to come along. Whether you’re looking for a sporting club, a volunteer opportunity, a local service, or want to find out what’s happening around the region, there’s something for everyone.
“These events prompt conversations and connections that might lead to new friendships and a stronger feeling of belonging.”
Attendees are set to have the chance to meet representatives from a wide range of organisations and learn more about the programs, activities and services available across the region.
Long-time Dubbo resident Lorna Brennan attended the inaugural event in March this year and said it was a great way to discover opportunities she didn’t know existed.
“I was surprised by how many groups and organisations were right here in our region,” Ms Brennan said.
“I met some fantastic people, learned about a few local programs and walked away with a better understanding of everything available in our community. It’s definitely worth coming along.”

Local businesses, sporting clubs, schools and community organisations are encouraged to register a stall, providing the opportunity to raise awareness of what they offer and connect directly with residents looking to get involved in their community.
Council will also continue its support for newcomers to the region, with a New Resident Pop-Up planned for the Wellington Markets on Saturday 24 October, providing a great opportunity for new residents to access information and connect with local organisations.
