Wingecarribee Shire Council is calling on Expressions of Interest (EOI) from interested parties to lease floor space within the proposed new Wingecarribee Animal Shelter.

The yet to be constructed purpose-built Animal Shelter will be co-located adjacent to a new State Emergency Service (SES) building on Council-owned property at 1 Bowman Road in Moss Vale.

The Expression of Interest is for the lease of a proposed multi-purpose ground floor commercial space within the Animal Shelter with shared reception and amenities areas.

The proposed initial lease period is for five (5) years.

The new Animal Shelter is proposed to contain an administrative area, isolation and adoption compounds, examination facilities, meeting rooms and indoor and outdoor pens and runs.

Both the Animal Shelter and SES building will have dedicated and separate carparking facilities.

Wingecarribee Shire Council acquired the Bowman Street property site following formal resolution at its meeting of 11 November 2020. The purchase of the land and subsequent construction of the Animal Shelter will be funded via monies raised from the sale of pre-existing Council-owned property at Frankland Street in Mittagong.

Construction on the Animal Shelter is anticipated to start in late 2022 with the facility expected to be complete in early 2024.

The EOI for the multi-purpose space is consistent with Council and the community’s vision for the new Animal Shelter.

Interested persons or parties wishing to submit an EOI should include sufficient details as to their proposed use of the lease space.
