ASQA is empowered to approve transition periods longer than those detailed in Clause 1.26 (a) of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015.
In accordance with the Guidance for Providers – Learner Transition, ASQA will only consider applications for a longer transition period where it can be demonstrated that there would be genuine disadvantage to a cohort of learners if such an extension was not approved.
ASQA has recently approved an extended transition period for the training product listed above.
The transition period for training, assessment and certification issuance for this training product is extended from 31 July 2024 to 31 December 2024.
This extension applies for all ASQA-regulated registered training organisations, but only for delivery to the following student cohort:
- secondary school students who commenced training and assessment in the qualification prior to 31 July 2024 and will undertake the state/territory school authority’s 2024 end-of-year school examination aligned to CHC33015
All students must either complete and receive certification or be transferred to replacement training products, by the new transition end date.
ASQA has consulted with the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority and the Training Accreditation Council of Western Australia regarding this extended transition period.
ASQA has sought advice from the Human Ability Jobs and Skills Council regarding this extension.
