Fair go for waste is hot tip in Logan

The entrance to the Logan Recycling Market which will host the Waste Fair on Saturday, November 16.

Handy tips and demonstrations on recycling and reducing waste will be available at this month’s Logan City Council Waste Fair.

The family-friendly day includes free workshops on composting and worm farming.

Activities include demonstrations and advice on re-useable nappies and behind-the-scenes tours of the Browns Plains Waste & Recycling Facility.

A restoration workshop will give participants the chance to restore a small timber item such as a small stool or chair, tray, jewellery box or picture frame.

Participants can bring something from home or browse the recycling market to find a treasure waiting to be restored.

Items should be pre-cleaned and sanded and restoration activities are likely to involve painting so appropriate clothing or an apron is recommended.

Logan City Council Waste Fair is on Saturday, November 16, from 10am to 2pm at the Browns Plains Waste & Recycling Facility, Recycle Way, Heritage Park.

The program is:

  • Landfill tours (departing from the recycling market at 10:05am, 11:05am, 12:05pm, and 1:05pm)
  • Re-usable nappy demonstration (10:30am)
