Fatal motorcycle crash, Holloways Beach

A man injured in a two-vehicle crash on December 20 sadly passed away today in Townsville Hospital.

The crash occurred on the Captain Cook Highway approximately 50 metres north of the Holloways Beach roundabout at around 4.45pm.

Two vehicles, a utility and motorcycle, were both travelling northbound on a dual carriage-way when they have come into contact with the motorcycle losing control and colliding with a speed sign before the male rider came to rest in the grass medium strip.

He was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the utility was not injured.

Police investigations are continuing with officer’s preparing a report for the Coroner.
