Fatal motorcycle crash near Lismore, NSW

A motorcyclist has died following a crash in the state’s Northern Rivers region yesterday.

Just after 12.30pm (Friday 17 December 2021), emergency services were called to Kyogle Road in Cawlonga, about 37km north west of Lismore, after reports a motorcycle and ford utility collided.

The male rider died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 60s.

The driver of the utility – a 32-year-old woman – was uninjured and taken to Lismore Base Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Richmond Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
