Female correctional employee charged over inappropriate relationship with inmate, NSW

A correctional employee will face court next month, charged over an alleged inappropriate relationship with an inmate in the state’s Central West.

Last week, detectives from the Corrective Services Investigation Unit commenced an investigation following reports of an alleged inappropriate relationship between a female correctional employee and male inmate.

Following inquiries, officers issued a 47-year-old woman with a Field Court Attendance Notice (FCAN) for the offence of engage in relationship with inmate cause safety risk about 5pm yesterday (Wednesday 13 October 2021).

Police will allege in court that the woman engaged in inappropriate activity with a male inmate over a two-week period earlier this month.

The Bathurst woman will appear at Lithgow Local Court on Wednesday 17 November 2021.

The woman’s employment has been suspended.
