Drug and Firearms Squad detectives have charged a fifth man over his alleged role in the supply of prohibited drugs as part of an organised criminal syndicate operating across NSW.
In December last year, the State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearms Squad established Strike Force Grenville to investigate a Sydney-based criminal syndicate allegedly involved in the supply of prohibited drugs and firearms.
In May this year, strike force investigators executed two search warrants at a unit at Bondi and home at Leumeah.
During the search of the Bondi unit, officers seized $12,000 cash, more than 200g of MDMA and an amount of LSD.
Three men were arrested during the operation in Sydney, while a fourth man was arrested at South Yarra, Victoria. All four were all charged and remain before the courts.
Following further inquiries, a 27-year-old man was arrested at Chatswood Police Station just after 1pm yesterday (Wednesday 2 September 2020).
He was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity) and deal with property suspected proceeds of crime.
Police will allege in court the man was involved in the supply of prohibited drugs across Sydney.
He was refused bail to appear before Hornsby Local Court today (Thursday 3 September 2020).
Investigations under Strike Force Grenville are continuing.
