Final places under JobTrainer open for enrolment

The ACT Government has opened the final release of places under the JobTrainer program, offering more than 1,000 free training positions to help Canberrans get the right skills to find a great job.

“We are experiencing a big demand for workers across a range of industries in the ACT. The final release of free training places under JobTrainer will prioritise enrolment areas of skills need.” said Minister for Skills, Chris Steel.

Courses will be available in the following areas:

  • Aged care
  • Security
  • Construction
  • Hospitality
  • Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Disability Care
  • A range of Digital Skills courses

“The final round of JobTrainer is available to Canberrans who have left school and are aged 17-24 – or are jobseekers. I encourage school leavers, young people or any Canberran who is currently unemployed to take advantage of the program to gain extra skills and start a new career.” said Minister Steel.

So far more than 4,000 Canberrans have enrolled across 137 free JobTrainer courses, helping to boost the ACT’s skilled workforce since the program opened in late 2020.

The ACT Government, along with the Australian Government, has contributed $16.75 million for the second round of JobTrainer program as part of a record $126.3 million investment in skills in 2022.

Enrolments for the last round of JobTrainer will close on 31 March 2023.
