The Spoilbank Marina project in Port Hedland has reached another important milestone, with the final stage of construction for the landside component and landscaping now underway.

This is the largest package to date and includes the construction of the marina roads, car and trailer parking, retaining walls, footpaths, landscaping, public amenities, shade structures, barbecue areas and the installation of utilities and services.

Western Australian business Ertech has been awarded the contract for the works.

The $187.5 million Spoilbank Marina project is a key election commitment from the WA Labor Government, and is funded by the State Government, Town of Port Hedland, and BHP.

Construction is progressing well on the broader project, with the marina now connected to the ocean, the new navigational channel successfully created and work underway on breakwaters and marine structures.

The marina boat ramps are expected to be operational in late 2023, with completion of remaining marine and landside areas expected in 2024.

Further information about the Spoilbank Marina project is available on Pilbara Ports’ website.
