Firefighters have contained a blaze at the Visy recycling factory at Wingfield. The fire started at 3.30am, and the MFS and CFS attended the blaze, which was brought under control around 7.30am.
The MFS and EPA have advised residents and motorists in the area to stay indoors and close all doors and windows until the smoke has dissipated.
