A 68-year-old Maroochy River man has been charged with multiple firearm offences after police allegedly located weapons during a search of a property in Maroochy River this morning, 7 August.
Around 7.30am Detectives from the Sunshine Coast District Criminal Investigation Branch executed a search warrant at a Maroochy River address where they allegedly seized four firearms, four firearm silencers, ammunition and a quantity of drugs.
The man has been charged with six counts of unlawful possession of weapons, two counts of unlawful possession of shortened firearms, and one count each of unlawful possession of explosives and possession of dangerous drugs.
He is due to appear before Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 27 August.
