Firearms and drugs seized; man charged, NSW

A man has been charged after firearms and prohibited drugs were seized from a home near Armidale.

About 8am on Wednesday (29 January 2020), officers from the New England Police District Target Action Group conducted a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO) search at a home on Waterfall Way, Ebor.

During the search, officers located firearms, firearm equipment, ammunition and cannabis. These items were seized to undergo forensic examination.

A 52-year-old man was arrested at the property and taken to Armidale Police Station.

He was charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug, supply indictable quantity of prohibited drug, possess unauthorised pistol, possess unregistered firearm pistol, not keep firearm safely pistol, and possess ammunition without holding licence.

The man appeared at Armidale Local Court yesterday (Thursday 30 January 2020), where he was formally refused bail to appear at the same court on Monday 16 March 2020.
