The Allan Labor Government is delivering four communities new state-of-the-art police stations – with the designs for stations at South Melbourne, Narre Warren, Point Cook and Clyde North released today.
The new and upgraded stations will deliver modern facilities for Victoria Police – giving them the best law enforcement infrastructure so our hardworking police can continue to keep the community safe.
South Melbourne will receive a new 24-hour station on the corner of 142 Dorcas Street – the $52 million build will feature modern custody and interview rooms, large training rooms and secure parking for police vehicles.
As part of a $78 million investment in Melbourne’s growing south-east corridor, Clyde North will receive a brand new station while Narre Warren Police Station will also get a major upgrade.
A further $25 million has been dedicated for a brand-new police station in Point Cook, a vital resource for one of the fastest growing suburbs in the state.
Tenders for construction will be released in the coming months, inviting builders to enter a formal submission to build the new stations.
Since 2014 the Labor Government has delivered more than $423 million to build 19 new police stations and upgrade 15 more across Victoria.
This is part of the Government’s record investment of $4.5 billion to deliver more than 3,600 new sworn police officers, as well as state-of the-art intelligence systems, infrastructure and new technology.
