Virtual Australia's Biggest Morning Tea

Our iconic and much-loved fundraising event, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, is still going ahead this year, but we’re doing things a little differently… We’re taking Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea virtual!

Put the kettle on and connect with family, friends and colleagues via video chat from the comfort of your own home!

The official Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea date is Thursday 28 May, however participants can register to host at any time throughout the year.

Hosting a virtual Biggest Morning Tea is a great way to bring your loved ones together and spread happiness during this time, while raising vital funds for West Australians impacted by cancer.

The reality is that even while many of us have had our lives put on hold, cancer doesn’t rest, and thousands of Western Australians are dealing with the emotional and financial burden of a cancer diagnosis on top of this pandemic.

But you can help ensure they have support and access to vital services including counseling and financial assistance, by registering your virtual morning tea today!

To help put the “Big” in your virtual Biggest Morning Tea, we’ve put together a list of fun activities to play with your guests on the day:

1. Game on

Hold an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea themed game of trivia and ask your guests to donate to your fundraising page to join in the fun. Houseparty and Messenger have some great pre-installed games that you can play with your guests.

2. Nailed It!

Set a cake decorating challenge for everyone. You might like to select a photo of someone else’s cake masterpiece online and challenge everyone to remake the cake in their own kitchen. You could include a prize for the best (or closest) creation. Charge a small entry fee and send these Virtual Bake Off Scorecards to your guests. Download our mug-nificent 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed ribbons and tag the winners on social media.

3. Raffle

Sell raffle tickets for a tea-rrific prize in the lead up to Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. On the official day, you can draw the raffle and announce the winner live on social media or email the results to all the entrants. You might like to use our editable Raffle tickets.

4. Auction

Have you been thinking about getting rid of a few things around the house? Hold an online auction and de-clutter your house, while raising funds for us. Equip your bidders with our Online Auction Bidding Paddles or ask them to hold up their favourite culinary item instead. Follow these steps to get started.

5. Crazy Hair Day

Shave, colour or cut your hair for a small donation and share the final result on the day. Amp up the fun by getting your guests on board and do a vote on the best haircut or hairstyle amongst the group.

By registering to host a virtual Biggest Morning Tea this May, you can help us to continue our work providing vital support and crisis relief to all Australians impacted by cancer.

However you decide to host your Biggest Morning Tea this May, we’d love you to see what you come up with – tag your photos online using #Australia’sBiggestMorningTea.
