Five teens charged following aggravated burglary in Brighton

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged five teens following an aggravated burglary in Brighton overnight.

Police were first called out to Brighton around 12.20am following reports of an aggravated burglary in Moule Avenue.

It’s alleged the residents of the home disturbed an intruder who ran from the home.

It was then discovered one of the vehicles from the property, a 2015 Mercedes Tourer, was stolen.

Police tracked the car to Yarraville where it was dumped in Yarraville Gardens.

Five people were seen running from the vehicle before they jumped fences into back yards and various properties.

Four Bendigo teenagers, three boys and a girl aged 16 and 17-years-old were charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

They have been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

A 17-year-old Fawkner boy has been remanded in custody to appear before a children’s court today.
