Although rainfall eased early Wednesday over northern New South Wales, numerous flood warnings remain in effect.
- Wilsons: Major flooding continues at Lismore. It peaked at 11.40m on Wednesday 30 March at 5:00pm AEDT, with major flooding. Levels will remain above the levee height until Thursday, with major flooding to continue during Thursday.
- Richmond: Major flooding continues at Coraki and Bungawalbin. Woodburn may reach major flood level on Thursday. River levels are expected to remain below the early March 2022 event.
- Clarence River: Major flooding is occurring at Grafton and approaching its peak. At Ulmarra and Maclean major flooding is no longer expected, moderate flooding is forecast for Thursday.
- Orara River: Major flood peak is expected at Coutts Crossing around midday Thursday.
- Bellinger and Kalang: Moderate flooding easing along the Bellinger River at Thora.
- Macleay approaching moderate flood peaks.
The Northern Rivers and northern Mid North Coast are only expected to see isolated showers today and the Severe Weather Warning for heavy rain has been cancelled for this area.
There is the risk of severe thunderstorms along the northern Hunter and lower Mid North Coast today, with occasional showers elsewhere, along the east coast.
Gusty winds and high seas will develop along the NSW coast today, increasing further tonight, particularly along the coastal fringe from the Mid North Coast down to the Victorian border. A Severe Weather Warning for damaging wind may be issued.
Hazardous, large and powerful waves are expected from the Mid North Coast down to the Victorian border on Thursday and Friday, with coastal erosion likely in vulnerable areas. Hazardous Surf Warnings are current and a Severe Weather Warning for Damaging Surf has been issued.
