Four men have been charged and drugs with a potential street value of $122,000 were seized during police operations in Kingswood and Penrith.
In September 2018, Strike Force Travi was established by officers from Nepean Police Area Command and the Police Transport Command (North West Metropolitan Sector), targeting drug supply in the Penrith area.
Officers seized approximately 900g of methylamphetamine with an estimated potential street value of $122,000.
Following inquiries, strike force officers with assistance from the Dog Unit, North West Metropolitan Region Operation Support Group (OSG) and Public Order and Riot Squad (PORS), executed search warrants at addresses in Penrith and Kingswood just after 1pm yesterday (Wednesday 27 February 2019).
Four men were arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station.
A 27-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug – commercial quantity, six counts of supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity.
A 53-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug – large commercial quantity, six counts of supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity, and supply prohibited drug.
A 57-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug – large commercial quantity, and six counts of supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity.
A 28-year-old man was charged with three counts of assault officer in execution of duty, and resist officer in execution of duty.
The men were all refused bail and will appear in Penrith Local Court today (Thursday 28 February 2019).
Inquiries under Strike Force Travi are continuing.
