Four, including three teens, charged following police pursuit in Dubbo.

A teenage boy, two teenage girls and a woman have been charged following a police pursuit in the state’s west.

About 6.00pm on Saturday 6 November 2021, officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District detected a stolen Ford Ranger Utility being driven along North Street, Dubbo.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle however the driver did not stop, and a pursuit was initiated.

The Ford continued onto Blizzardfield Road, where the driver crossed to the wrong side of the road several times and drove across a playing field where people were engaged in recreational sports.

No one was injured.

Road spikes were successfully deployed before the Ford came to a stop. At this time the driver allegedly attempted to drive towards police.

The driver – a 14-year-old boy – attempted to flee on foot before being arrested a short time later in Lansdown Drive.

The two 17-year-old girls and the 19-year-old woman were arrested a short distance away from the Ford.

They were all taken to Dubbo Police Station, where the 14-year-old boy was charged with drive conveyance without consent of owner, police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, and use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention.

The two 17-year-old teenage girls were charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of the owner.

The 19-year-old woman was charged with be carried in conveyance and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.

The 14-year-old boy and the two 17-year-old teenage girls were released on conditional bail to appear before Children’s court on Monday 22 November 2021.

The 19-year-old woman was released on conditional bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday 15 December 2021.
